Vision 2020: Moving the Sticks
For those of us following college football, the LSU Tigers are having, up to now, a magical season. Where they will land only looks promising! In football the difference between winning and losing is in “moving the sticks.” This phrase comes from the nick name for the first down markers. They are called the sticks. When you move the sticks, you are advancing the ball and probably will win.
This football lesson is also a life and spiritual lesson for all of us. Jeremiah wanted to move the sticks for himself and his neighbors. The problem though was they kept fumbling the ball personally, nationally, and spiritually. To move the sticks in Jeremiah’s life would not be easy. It is not easy for us either. Yet, God promised Jeremiah; “For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.” [Jer. 29:11]
Join us for Sunday school [9 a.m.], worship [10 a.m.] and a fellowship meal at 11 a.m. and find God’s promises for you and your future. It is good!
